ROMPER-IFIC: 5 FANTASTIC WAYS TO WEAR A ROMPER

One of my favorite trends this year is the romper! This old fashion craze has remerged with a vengeance becoming a major hit among Hollywood celebrities. Its versatile style can complement women of all ages. Like the jumpsuit, many of us including myself until last summer were scared to venture into romper territory. Initially, the first thing that I thought of when trying to go “romper-ific” was my pre-school days of playing in corduroy overalls and sleeping in my Disney one piece pajamas. In spite of this, once I actually wore a romper I had a fashion epiphany that led me to say good-bye to my best friend, my beloved “lbd”, and hello to my new bestie, the romper! Yes you heard me right the romper currently is my new best friend, pushing my beloved “lbd” to the back of the closet. Not only do I get comfort and style with this trend, but versatility for all occasions make this so romper-ific. Here are 5 fantastic ways to wear a romper and make it your best friend too!

CHIC AT THE BEACH
Rompers are the perfect “go to” out fit for a day at the beach. Think lightweight fabrics such as cotton, terry, and linen and in pastel colors for a feminine look. TIP 1: CAMOUFLAGE: Choosing styles around the neckline that conceal your bathing suit top. For example, if you have a bandeau top opting for a strapless style romper. Here are links to get this look:

DAZZLE IN THE LITTLE BLACK ROMPER
When in need you don’t have to turn to that “lbd” dress anymore, try turning to a “lbr” as an alternative. TIP 1: KNOW THY BODY: When buying the color black keep in mind your body type. Black is one of the best colors to try different styles. Knowing what styles work with your body when wearing black will give you the most flattering look. Typically with rompers I recommend going for a looser fabric, however with black this is the exception to the rule since it tends to make most of us appear smaller. Here are links to get this look:

GO BRIGHTER & BOLDER
Make a statement by picking a romper in brighter and bolder color like orchard, coral, cobalt, teal, yellow, or tangerine. TIP 1: ADD SUBTLY: It’s important when choosing a bright solid color romper to add accessories and other color items like the shoes in a subtle manner. I did exactly that by sticking to a basic nude heel, and only gold earrings. This way it wasn’t detracting from the focal point of the cobalt blue silhouette but just adding a bit of dimension. Here are links to get my look:

GO GIRLY GLAM
Florals, shades of pink, shades of red, peplum, corset, and bodice all describe this look. Getting this look boils down to choosing the right accessories. TIP 1:METALLIC GLAMOUR: You can add this sparkle through the shoes, jewelry, and even clutch. However, make sure you don’t overkill the glamour by doing all elements, so it’s best to stick to the shoes and one piece of jewelry. Here are links to the get this look:

GO WILD
Yes you can actually go wild with this look. Think tribal prints and animal prints. You can have a lot of fun with this look whether you wear it on a hot date or on Sunday getting mani’s and pedi’s with your girlfriends. TIP 1: ADD BIT OF EDGE: Adding silver and a bit of leather whether it’s in the shoe, jacket, purse, or belt will make it a bit more edgier. A great example of this would be black leatherette sandals with sliver studs, or a black or brown belt with silver earrings. Here are links to get this look:
