3 COOL MEN’S HAIRSTYLES FOR SUMMER

Can you guess what George Clooney, Brad Pitt, David Beckham, and Ryan Gosling all common? Well besides the fact that all of them are major Hollywood heartthrobs they all rock great hairstyles. Having a great hairstyle and cut is one of the key elements in men’s fashion, as it provides you with  a certain feel. If you  glance at historical hairstyles  they have defined periods within men’s fashion from the crooners of the 1960’s to the mop-tops of the 70’s to 80’s mullets and the 90’s grunge hair. Fast forward into present day, and men’s hairstyles have become a part of who you are, and as important if not more than the clothes you choose to wear. So while your updating your summer wardrobe, it makes sense to change your hairstyle too! With all the summertime festivities you will be doing it’s paramount that your hairstyle should be cool and easy to style. Comb on through these 3 cool styles that are sure to beat the summer heat!

SLICKED HAIR
What’s old always becomes new again. This is definitely the case with slicked hair. This classic style has been around since the 20th century and is making a roaring come back among the modern day man. Popular shows like Madmen to Boardwalk Empire have added to this stigma making it one sought after look for men on screen, runways, and on the street. Although this hairstyle comes across serious, clean, and refined, this style is easy to pull off no matter what type of hair you have. Whether you opt for wearing this hairstyle in a more formal fashion where it’s slicked back with a neat side part or a more casual look with a matte finish product, the key difference is in the styling products that you use.  Also, the style may be worn with the top combed forward to give some volume.

THE QUIFF
Probably the most noted Quiff in history was that of the King Elvis.  Today’s modern quiff combines some retro 1950s looks specifically from the pompadour, flattop, and often a mohawk. The hairstyle was common in the English Teddy Boy craze, and regained popularity in the 1980’s and most recently a few years ago again. Whether you want to sport a high or low Quiff, the style is quite versatile, and can be worn several ways. A standard Quiff is generally shorter on the sides and longer on the top, but one can play with proportions so much that it doesn’t line up with the theory anymore. While a typical Quiff is worn pointing to upwards, it can also be styled down. After getting the cut right, to obtain the perfect Quiff you will need a styling gel along with a blow dryer to get your hair as upward as possible. The key here is to begin with as little product as possible, only adding extra when needed.

BACK TO BASICS
Sometimes the best hairstyles are the ones that are the most basic. The third way to cool off in style this summer is a simple cut. “Less is actually more” is what the simple look is all about whether you sport a buzz cut to long hair. This style is not for those who second guess themselves, rather it is for a confident man to cut his hair short and let it grow a little without doing much to it. You can have as much fun with this look by going with bangs, styling it upwards, downwards, sideways or in any other way you like, and the end result will always differ. Since letting your hair grow naturally and equally on all sides can sometimes look weird and unpolished, it’s important that you take good care of your hair. On a positive note, having a simple haircut will make your face look more natural than any other hip haircut, so rock this  "bare style” look with attitude!
