For a long time until this past summer I made it my mission to steer clear of this 70’s style staple in any way imaginable. I cringed at the thought of even trying on Palazzo Pants for many reasons including looking like I stepped outside in my pajamas , making me appear bigger than I actually was, and feeling like it was mission impossible to create a chic and feminine ensemble without looking like a hippie from the 70’s! However, as I got into my later years I learned that life is about taking chances, trying new things, being open to change, and having fun! I came to the conclusion that there is no possible way I could ever know if I really looked like a fashion disaster if I didn’t try. Fast forward this summer I went head first into this trend and find it to be quite splendid! Not only are they comfortable, but they are feminine, avant-garde, and did I forget mention that they make your legs look long and lean too! What better way to welcome the Fall than sporting some groovy chic and highly satisfying Palazzo Pants in 5 fresh ways!
GO SOLID
The easiest way to wear your favorite pair of Palazzo Pants is to go with a solid color top. For starters neutral shades are a failsafe way because you can’t go wrong pairing solid blacks, whites, and greys. However, if you want to be more daring and decide to go with bold colors remember to refer to the color wheel to help you achieve harmony within your color block technique.
POP ON A CROP TOP
High waisted Palazzo pants are an easy way to rock a crop top. Pairing it with a cropped top like I did is easy way to create more balance within your look. Wearing a slim-fitting top to balance out the volume on the bottom half actually can make your waist look smaller.

With school back, and NYFW in full force, and retailers blasting daily sales advertisements for jeans, I got great news for you denim days are here to stay! Like denim jeans, denim shirts have become a must-have this year thanks to their old-school charm. Style them with your palazzos for an incredibly relaxed trendy vibe, and your good to go!

Adding a cardigan, structured blazer, or cropped style jacket provides a double dose of style! It not only streamlines your look but also adds a fresh twist! You can also use the cover up piece as way to balance the bottom fullness of the pants. I did exactly that by taking a navy cardigan and crème belt to tie the whole look together. I opted for a crème belt with navy blue cardigan look over a basic blazer or jacket because it created more of multi-dimensional look and easily created that pop factor within the accessories that so many looks fail to have.
STYLE TIP FOR DAY TO NIGHT
You can take any look from work attire to nighttime wear by just adding an extra layer such as a jacket, cardigan, or blazer to cover up, and also deciding what to add or subtract in terms of accessories. For day time I added a cardigan and a crème belt, and for night time I just removed those two pieces.
GO FOR BOLD OR INTERESTING PRINTS
If you’re a fan of wild prints, loud patterns, bold colors, or love to be on trend, the palazzo pants are going to spoil you! Whatever flavor your looking for, designers have made the choices endless. Keep in mind to pair busy prints with solid colored tops. If you are wearing a printed pant, try to focus on the color in the print that you feel is going to bring the most pop to your look. I did exactly that by focusing on the orange by going with an orange/reddish top within the color palette of the print that consisted of blue, brown , yellow, white, and orange.
